NICE NEWS - The latest on Community Energy in Northern Ireland!
Great British Energy and The Department for Energy Security and New Zero have just published an ambitious plan for expansion of Community Energy across the UK
Per Announcement released on February 10th 2026
"The plan sets out how together we will grow local and community-owned clean energy across the UK, ensuring that communities directly benefit from the energy they help to produce.
We will expand community and local clean energy by providing up to £1 billion of funding, hands-on support, better business models and policy ambition and regulatory reform so that local projects can be developed at scale across the UK."

Northern Ireland Community Energy welcomes this ambitious plan and looks forward to working with NI Department of Economy, Community Energy Northern Ireland (CENI), and community groups in Northern Ireland interested in generating renewable energy, keeping people warm, and doing something about the Climate Emergency!
Lets get the funds allocated by Westminster for Community Energy in Northern Ireland spent on Community Energy in Northern Ireland.
