What kinds of personal data we process and why we collect it?
We use the information NICE members give us to keep you up to date with your NICE investment. Whatever your investment you became an equal member of NICE with an automatic entitlement to principal membership rights which are:
- The right to information including the Society’s annual accounts.
- Invitation to General Meetings of members
- One member one vote on resolutions of the members, including election of Directors.
- The right to stand for election to the Board.
- The right to receive interest on shares, subject to available and applicable surplus.
- Members receive share certificates and details are recorded on a share register kept by NICE at the Society’s registered address
To do this we need to know your name and address or e-mail address, year of birth and payment details. We also ask for your telephone number, which enables us to contact you directly should we have a query.
We may use the information to occasionally notify you about important NICE functional changes and news.
By using our website, you consent to the collection and use of this information by NICE. If we decide to change our Privacy Policy, we will post those changes on this site so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances we disclose it.
Contact forms
We collect information in order to sign you up to our newsletter, register for an event or to receive a message through our Contact Form. The purpose will be explicitly stated on the page that the form exists.

We do not currently use cookies on our website except for registered users. Should this change, we will update this policy.

Our website may contain links to other websites and or include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.) which are outside of our control and are not covered by this Privacy Policy. If you access other sites using the links provided, the operators of these sites may collect information from you which will be used by them in accordance with their privacy policy, which may differ from ours. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Analytics
NICE does not use analytics software on its website.
Who we share your data with
We may share this information with companies and organisations, including Co-Operative Alternatives, that process data on our behalf, we do not share your data with any other third party for marketing purposes or use it other than the purpose explicitly stated.
How long we retain your data
We do not retain your data on our website, your information will be sent by email to us and we will use it for the length of your NICE membership, sign-up to NICE newsletter, until a brief period after an event has been held, or for as long as we remain in contact with you.
Furthermore, as required by Data Protection legislation, we adhere to strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information which you have given us, to prevent unauthorised access.
What rights you have over your data
We store your data to facilitate NICE members principal rights as outlined above, other contact such as event management for an event that you wish to attend, to send you newsletters with your consent or to return contact if you have sent us a message. You retain the right to request all of the personally identifiable information (PII) that we hold about you. You also retain the right to ask that this data is removed immediately. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Changes to our Privacy Policy
Our Privacy Policy has been updated in accordance with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) which came into force on 25th May 2018.
The number of this policy is version 2.0.
If we decide to change our Privacy Policy we will post those changes on NICE website so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances we disclose it.
